HMS Warrior

A Gift in Memory

Making a donation in memory of a loved one will provide a lasting legacy and afford you the opportunity to remember someone special.

By remembering the Warrior Preservation Trust in your Will, you will make a lasting contribution to the ongoing preservation of HMS Warrior 1860 for future generations to enjoy.

We understand that your first priority when writing a Will is naturally to ensure that your family and friends are provided for. However, a Will is also an excellent way to remember a charity which is important to you.

If you would like to remember us in your will, there are a number of ways you can do so including;

  • A Pecuniary Bequest allows you to give a specific sum of money.
  • A Residuary Bequest is a gift of the whole or part of your estate after other bequests to family and friends have been made and expenses have been met.
  • A Specific Bequest is a gift of personal possessions/objects.

Because the Warrior Preservation Trust is a registered charity, any bequest that you make to us is exempt from Inheritance Tax. Therefore any potential tax to be paid out of your estate could be reduced or, potentially, eliminated entirely.

Thank you

A bequest is possibly the most personal gift anyone can make to the Trust and through it you can make a lasting contribution. Because of this we record and recognise all such gifts in our Book of Remembrance.

What Next?

Advice from your own legal or tax advisor should be sought when considering any gift arrangement.
Whilst we are committed to respecting your privacy, we hope that you are able to share your wishes with us. Informing us of your intentions to leave a gift to the Warrior Preservation Trust in your Will allows us to plan for the future knowing that we have your continued support. Naturally, this pledge is simply a statement and is by no means legally binding. All information will of course be kept confidential.

The Warrior Preservation Trust is delighted to be left particular items in Wills. However the additional costs of restoring and displaying these items can place a considerable strain on the Trust's financial resources. We therefore ask you to write to the Trust providing us with as much information as possible before including an item in your Will.

If you would like to speak to someone in confidence about leaving a legacy to the Warrior Preservation Trust or adding a Codicil to your existing Will, or you would like to receive further information, please call our Fundraising Department on 023 9277 8613 or complete the contact form and we will get in touch with you.
