HMS WARRIOR 1860 is looking to recruit an Assistant Learning Officer (maternity cover) from March/April 2017. The post will assist to fulfil the Activity Programme for a £4.2m HLF funded project.

The role is primarily to support the Learning Officer in the day to day responsibility for development and delivery of interactive, high quality learning workshops, learning resources and special projects for pupils, students and teachers as well as informal learning and HMS Warrior’s community engagement programmes. This opportunity comes at a time of exciting change in a small expanding organisation.

Warrior Preservation Trust Limited currently has a turnover of £2.2m and welcomes over 300,000 visitors each year.

The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to engage with diverse audiences through briefings, teaching and presentations. You will have experience of delivering workshops and /or teaching and of working with children and young people/adults. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate skills in building positive relationships with both external parties and internal colleagues. You will require excellent planning and organisational skills and a good basic IT working knowledge. Able to work both independently and as key member of a small team in a busy and challenging environment, flexibility and adaptability are important. An understanding of how to support STEM subjects is also desirable.

This is a 10 month maternity cover funded post, 22.5 hours per week.

Salary £18,000 pa pro rata plus holidays and benefits.
